PART A — (5 x 5 = 25 marks) 

Answer any FIVE of the following Eight questions.
1. Write about symmetry in crystals.
స్ఫటికములలో సౌస్టవము గురించి వ్రాయుము.
2. Explain P-V isotherms of real gases.
నిజ వాయువుల యొక్క పీడనము-ఘనపరిమాణముల సమోప్టరేఖలను వివరింపుము.
3. Write the structural differences between solid liquid and gaseous substances.
ఘన, ద్రవ మరియు వాయు పదార్థములలోని నిర్మాణాత్మక భేదములను వ్రాయుము.
4. What are ideal and non-ideal solutions give examples.
ఆదర్శ మరియు ఆదర్శీతర  ద్రావణములనగానేమి? ఉదాహరణలనిమ్ము.
5. . Define colloids. Write the uses of colloids.
కాంజికాభములను నిర్వచించి వాటి ఉపయోగాలను వాయుము.
6. Explain the Molecular Orbital diagram of N₂.
N₂ యొక్క అణు ఆర్బిటాల్‌ చిత్రమును గీచి వివరింపుము.
7. Define enantiomers and diastereomers.
 ఎనాన్సియోమర్లు  ( ప్రతిరూపము ) మరియు డయాస్టరియోమరులను నిర్వచింపుము.
8. Explain E  - Z configuration with examples.
E - Z  విన్యాసమును ఉదాహరణలతో వివరింపుము.

Answer the following (One from each Unit)

UNIT - I

9. (a) How do you determine crystal structure by Bragg’s method?
బ్రాగ్‌ పద్ధతినుపయోగించి స్ఫటిక నిర్మాణమును ఎట్లు కనుగొందువు?
               Or
(b) Write in detail about Crystal defects.
సృటిక దోషముల గురించి వివరంగా వ్రాయుము.

UNIT - II

10. (a) Derive Vanderwaals equation.
వాండర్‌వాల్‌ సమీకరణమును ఉత్పాదించుము.
              Or
(b) Write the differences between liquid crystals and solid crystals. Explain the uses of liquid crystals in LCD devices.
ద్రవ సృటికములకు మరియు ఘన స్ఫటికములకు మధ్య గల భేదములను వ్రాయుము. LCD పరికరములలో ద్రవ స్ఫటికముల ఉపయోగములను వ్రాయుము.

UNIT - III 

11. (a) What are partially misable liquids? Explain the water-phenol curve.
పాక్షిక మిశ్రణీయ ద్రావణిలనగా నేమి? నీరు-ఫినాల్‌ వక్రమును వివరింపుము.
             Or
(b) Draw and explain the Azeotropic curve of HCl -H₂0.
HCl -H₂0 యొక్క ఎజియోట్రోఫిక్‌ వక్రమును గీచి వివరింపుము.

UNIT - IV 

12. (a) Write the preparation properties and uses of gels.
జెల్‌లను తయారుచేయుట, ధర్మముల మరియు ఉపయోగముల గురించి వ్రాయుము.
             Or
(b) Write the postulate of Molecular orbital Theory. Add a note on LCAO method.
అణు ఆర్బిటాల్‌ సిద్దాంతములో ని ప్రతిపాదనములను వ్రాయుము. LCAO పద్దతి గురించి ఒక వ్యాఖ్య వ్రాయుము.

UNIT - V

13. (a) Explain the optical isomerism in the following.
ఈ క్రింది వానిలో ధృవణ సాదృశ్యమును వివరింపుము.
    (i) Glyceraldehyde
     గ్లెసిరాల్‌డిహైడ్‌
    (ii)  2,3,dibromo pentane
     2,3,డైెబోమోపెంటేన్‌
            Or
(b) Explain Newman and saw-Horse formula of carbon compounds giving specific examples.
తగిన ఉదాహరణలనిస్తూ కార్బన్‌ సమ్మేళనము యొక్క న్యూమాన్‌ మరియు సాహార్స్‌ ఫార్ములాలను వివరించుము.
